  31. Sponsored by the Institute  of  Electrical  and  Electronics  En-
  32. gineers (IEEE) Signal Processing Society, ICIP-94 is the inaugur-
  33. al international conference on theoretical, experimental and  ap-
  34. plied  image  processing.   It  will provide a centralized, high-
  35. quality forum for  presentation  of  technological  advances  and
  36. research  results  by  scientists  and engineers working in Image
  37. Processing and associated  disciplines  such  as  multimedia  and
  38. video  technology.  Also encouraged are image processing applica-
  39. tions in areas such as the biomedical sciences and geosciences.

  79. Prospective authors are invited to propose papers for lecture  or
  80. poster  presentation  in any of the technical areas listed above.
  81. To submit a proposal, prepare a 2-3 page summary of the paper in-
  82. cluding  figures  and  references.  Send five copies of the paper
  83. summaries to:

  89. Each selected paper (five-page limit) will be  published  in  the

  100. CONFERENCE ENVIRONMENT
  101. ICIP-94 will be held in the recently  completed  state-of-the-art
  102. Convention  Center  in  downtown Austin. The Convention Center is
  103. situated two blocks from the Town Lake, and is  only  12  minutes
  104. from  Robert  Meuller  Airport.   It is surrounded by many modern
  105. hotels that provide comfortable accommodation  for  $75-$125  per
  106. night.
  107.  
  108. Austin, the state capital, is  renowned  for  its  natural  hill-
  109. country  beauty and an active cultural scene. Within walking dis-
  110. tance of the Convention Center are  several  hiking  and  jogging
  111. trails, as well as opportunities for a variety of aquatic sports.
  112. Live bands perform in various clubs around the city and at  night
  113. spots  along  Sixth  Street,  offering  a  range  of jazz, blues,
  114. country/Western, reggae, swing and rock music.  Day  temperatures
  115. are typically in the upper sixties in mid-November.

  118. EVENTS  is being planned. Innovative proposals for TUTORIALS, and
